Arsenal photographer’s speech before Tottenham game goes viral – GiveMeSport

A clip from Arsenal’s new documentary ‘All or Nothing’ showing club photographer Stuart MacFarlane giving an emotional speech ahead of a North London derby against Tottenham last season is going viral on social media.

The Gunners got off to a poor start to the 2021-22 Premier League campaign, losing their first three matches against Brentford, chelsea and Manchester City.

But under-fire manager Mikel Arteta managed to avoid a full-fledged crisis with back-to-back wins over Norwich City and Burnley.

In their sixth league game of the season on September 26, Arsenal against rivals Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium.

Shortly before kick-off, Arteta made the decision to allow longtime club photographer Stuart MacFarlane to speak to the team inside the dressing room.

And even the Spaniard must have been surprised by the impact MacFarlane’s impassioned speech had on the players.

What did the Arsenal photographer say in his speech to the team?

Passing the baton to MacFarlane, Arteta said: “I want you to hear from him what he thinks of you because he sees you every day at our club.”

The photographer began: “It’s hard. It’s my club. I love this football club.

“I fucking love you all.

“In 30 years, I have photographed incredible players. World-class players, great teams.

“I watch you a lot, they’re a great team. They’re a great team. I’ve been a fan all my life. That’s what we have to do, we have to go out and win.

“It’s me, I’m a fan, that group on the outside…they would do anything to win today.

“Look at them. When you go out, first fuckin’ tackle, listen to the crowd. They’re gonna be on you right away.

“Win every tackle. When you score, watch their faces. Look at the emotion, look how much they love you.

“Show them how much you love them. OK?”

Every player and staff member was visibly enthused by MacFarlane’s words.

Did Arsenal win the game?

Arsenal players responded by scoring three goals in the opening 35 minutes through Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka.

The Gunners blitzed their rivals and sealed all three points before half-time.

Son Heung-min scored a consolation goal for Spurs late in the game, but Arsenal never looked to lose.

Video: Arteta celebrates with Arsenal’s full-time photographer

After the full-time whistle, the Sky Sports camera captured Arteta giving MacFarlane a huge hug and pointing the finger at the popular member of staff.
