DANBURY — Community members gathered on the second day of Pride Month to raise the Pride Flag in front of City Hall.
The event included speeches from U.S. Representative Jahana Hayes, D-Conn. and Apex Community Care, an organization that supports and advocates for people with HIV/AIDS, mental health and addiction.
Will Love, founder of the Danbury Area Justice Network, organized the event and raised the Quasar Pride flag. Created by Daniel Quasar and also known as the Progress Pride flag, this flag combines the traditional rainbow flag with the transgender Pride flag.
June is pride month for the LGBTQ+ community.
