Lee County Schools are holding recruiting event in Fort Myers for food workers and bus drivers on Wednesday



The Lee County School District is hosting a recruiting event for food services and bus drivers in Fort Myers on Wednesday.

With a growing enrollment of over 95,000 students and 120 schools, LCSD seeks to match candidates with positions in food services and transportation for the current school year. At the recruiting event, interested candidates will learn more about each position and meet with representatives from the district food and nutrition and transportation services. Computers will be available on site for those who wish to submit an online application.

Positions are available for food service workers, traveler food service workers and food service trainees. The district is currently waiving the high school diploma or GED requirement. Part-time opportunities are available.

Professional qualifications required for bus drivers include at least five years of driving experience, a satisfactory driving record and a social security card. The District offers training to applicants who do not already have a commercial driver’s license. The starting salary for Lee County bus drivers is $ 16.32 an hour, and the district offers flexible hours, a training allowance, and a benefit package for full-time employees.
